A partnership between Susan G. Komen Southeastern Colorado Affiliate, UCCS's Beth-El College of Nursing & Health Sciences, and Pikes Peak Library District recently developed a resource directory for distribution online. This interactive map, at komen.ppld.org, shows the location of businesses providing support, financial assistance, product suppliers, diagnosis and treatment, education and other breast health resources.
The Colorado Breast Cancer Resources Directory Online www.breastcancercolorado.org provides a helpful guide to the broad range of breast health and cancer care resources available statewide for patients, survivors, family, friends, and the healthcare community. The online directory is updated throughout the year. A printed version, updated annually, is available in English and Spanish and distributed at no charge. To obtain a printed copy, please contact: info@breastcancercolorado.org.
The online directory has information on where to find support groups, support resources and organizations, financial assistance, information hotlines, product suppliers, wellness resources, legislative contacts, insurance information, and Internet resources. Many of the resources are services provided free or low-cost, including patient navigation, survivorship services, support groups, financial assistance, and free and low cost breast cancer screening.
The Directory is published by the Colorado Cancer Coalition's Breast Cancer Task Force. The Southeastern Colorado Affiliate helps make this resource available by providing a grant to the annual program budget.
