FAQ

  • Is it okay to bring a jogging stroller?
    If you must bring a stroller, then you must park in the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood. We do not have room for strollers in the busses used at the other parking areas. For the safety of all participants please remain at the back of the pack on the course, and please be careful not to run into other participants with your stroller. 
  • Can I bring my pet to the Race?
    No pets, other than leashed service animals, are allowed on the course on Race day. Instead, please bring your dogs to our Pooches in Pink the day before the Race. Learn more at Pooches in Pink
  • What about radio headsets, roller blades, inline skates, bicycles?
    For the safety of all participants, radio headsets, roller blades, inline skates, and bicycles are not allowed on the race course.
  • Do I have to raise money in addition to my registration? 
    Additional donations are not required, but additional donations will help us to serve even more Southern Colorado men and women with education, treatment, screening, and support.  Think of the Power of 10…if you ask 10 friends and family members to each donate at least $10 to your Race efforts, you could raise $100 or more.  That will make an impact!
  • Does someone not walking or running have to register?
    Everyone coming to the event must register, even if they do not plan to walk or run.
  • Can I come as a spectator?
    Everyone coming to the event must register.
  • What is the course like (how difficult)?
    The course is rolling hills. The first 3/4 mile is a steady incline. 
  • How can I volunteer to help Race for the Cure®?
    We depend on over 300 dedicated volunteers to make this event happen. Go to http://www.komensecolorado.org/komen-race-for-the-cure/volunteer/  We have many opportunities for you to get involved.
  • What happens if the weather is bad?
    This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances.There will be no refunds.
  • Where do I get "In Memory of" or "In Celebration of" placards?
    Placards are available at the Registration and Survivor Tent on Race Day. They are also available at the Race Stores at The Citadel and Chapel Hills Mall.
  • How do I contact someone if I have a question?
    You can call our Information Line at (719) 632-8887 or email info@komencs.org.  An office volunteer will reply and/or send your message the appropriate committee person who can help you.
  • Is the $5 mailing fee per participant or per address?
    The mailing fee is per participant. The post office has strict guidelines for bulk mailing. We can only have one shirt per envelope.
  • What is the difference between the 5K Walk and the Family Walk?
    The family walk is less than 1 mile. If you look at the map , it will start at the same start line but you will make a U-turn where the 5K walkers turn right onto Juniper Way Loop.
  • Can I set up a booth to sell items and raise money for Komen?
    We do not allow vendor sales of any kind at our Race. Booth space is available for certain levels of sponsorship only. If you or your business would like check into sponsorship, call 632-8887 or e-mail sponsorship@komensecolorado.org. If you are interested in fundraising for the cause, call 632-8887 or e-mail info@komensecolorado.org and ask for information on 3rd-party events.
  • What if I get cash or check donations?
    Cash and check donations can be handled in various ways:
         - Mailed to Komen Southeastern Colorado, 625 N. Cascade Ave, Suite 110, CSC 80903
         - Taken to the Komen office at 625 N. Cascade, Suite 110
         - Turned in to the Donations tent (near registration) on Race morning 
    Checks should be made out to Komen Southeastern Colorado.
